Blue Cross and Blue Shield

Reputable doctors are all of the sudden out of network, no explanation from BCBS! This health insurance is a rip-off. Paying over $500 a month just so you can tell me that you won’t pay for post-operative care for eye surgery. Give me a break; definitely looks like they’re in business for themselves! If I could give you zero stars I sure would! Stay away from this health insurance folks! It’s getting worse with health insurance premiums and them not paying for the care by our doctors.

I have been fighting BCBS for over 20 months to get coverage for a wisdom tooth. They say its a medical claim but no oral surgeons will bill medical. Clawed my way thought the overseas customer disservice to middle management Mike still a waste of time and my money. I have at least 20 ref. numbers related to the issue. You have been warned. BCBS Dental insurance is a joke.

Veronica Villanueva has been the absolute best person to have been fortunate enough for us to end up with. She's been my dad's care coordinator since 2023 and she's a true rare find these days. I remember when I was trying to set things up for my dad & being worried about the timeline, someone asked me who my dad's insurance coordinator was & once I told them they said "You got lucky, Veronica is fast and she gets things done, you have nothing to worry about". I do feel very lucky, Veronica is very professional, polite, caring and just pretty amazing at her job. Thank you so much.

I think this insurance company must be undergoing a service overhaul because this past year I have had great experiences with customer service and benefits, which was not always the case in the past when I had this insurance. The only problem I had with billing was from the hospital's end and the person I spoke with at BCBS made sure that it was fixed before she ended our call. I also appreciate how you can earn points for stuff like car seats and household essentials.

I was a member of Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico for 3 years without incident. I switched employers and it's been a nightmare ever since. My name was misspelled and after two submissions of my driver's license, hours on the phone with customer service, four months and $1244 later I STILL don't have a corrected insurance card. It doesn't seem like that big of an issue, but I'm paying hundreds of dollars per visit and waiting on getting treatment for some issues because I can't afford to keep paying out of pocket for these expenses AND the health insurance premium. 0/10 would NOT recommend.
