Auto-Owners Insurance Fort Myers Claims

I have to say that getting in an accident away from home can be frustrating, especially if you are the claimant and not the insured. I was given Ricky Powell’s number for Auto Owners of Ft Myers and expected very little. To my surprise, he was extremely helpful and responsive. ( more so than my own company) . My collision center of choice was not a problem and I received payment quickly. They paid additional supplements directly to the shop. I have been involved in the collision industry my whole life and have witnessed horror stories in similar circumstances but dealing with them was and has been a delight. I would not hesitate to recommend this company and certainly Ricky Powell as an agent . Actually so much so that when my policy is up in a few months I’ll call them first. Every one is

I’ve paid auto owners almost one million dollars over eight years with no claims made and now they are dropping my company for working on condo buildings! Then as I’m shopping for new insurance, the other companies are telling me I have a claim on my policy. Come to find out a year ago auto owners paid somebody out after they hit one of our cars and the auto owners claim representative told us that neither party was going to be able to make a claim on the opposing insurance policies . The only thing they could offer is that if I wanted to claim my own damages to get repaired and I declined. Now, a year later, I find out that after they told me this, they went ahead and paid out the other party without ever notifying me and I have dash cam evidence that is clear as day that we were not at f

Incredibly slow on claim response. They don't do their jobs until you call and ask them to. Every time you call it's "oh that was on my desk to do today". No proactiveness especially not from Ricky Powell. Doesn't respond to emails. Doesn't return calls. Lies about details. Their Diminished Value system and payout is a joke. Even the "manager" Michael Crouch is incredibly condescending to talk to and zero help. Thank god this isn't my insurance company - I'm just a victim of a teenager who shouldn't have been licensed yet.

Extremely Disappointed with Lack of Communication and Service It’s been over two months since I was in a car accident, and I have yet to receive a single phone call from the assigned adjuster, Izzy. Not once. Every time I try to call, I’m routed to a different location’s receptionist who immediately sends me to his voicemail, which, of course, is never returned. I’ve left messages, contacted his manager, and even filed a formal complaint with the state of Florida, and still, nothing. Absolutely no follow-up, no update, and no accountability. Anthony Turton was our rep when our daughter was in a car accident. Anthony made the whole process easy which we were super nervous about since this was our first time dealing with an accident. Anthony was professional, kind, understanding and overall absolutely wonderful. I emailed and called a lot too! Each and every time he responded quickly and provided accurate information.
