United Healthcare doesn't trust the word of doctors who actually see patients. They use a third party company and out of state "doctors" that never see a patient to deny possible lifesaving claims, and then offer a ridiculous appeal process, only allowing appeals by Fax or U.S. mail, basically avoiding any contact with policyholders. I really don't know how many deaths they have caused with their out of date process and lack of representation. You may can talk to your agent, but they can not change anything the third party company decides. I wouldn't recommend United Healthcare, and I would urge the state to not allow them to do business in the state of Mississippi until they adjust their policies to actually serve their clients with actual coverage and representation. I never use my insurance for anything. I had an accident where I could have died, had surgery, the doctors wanted to keep an eye on me after and make sure everything was okay. Now they won’t pay for my one night in the hospital because I didn’t die and ended up recovering fine. I appealed and got sent a letter denying my appeal and threatening me that if I appeal again, they will make me pay for everything from the whole year. Unbelievable.

Would not give 1 star if I didn't have to. PEOPLE THIS IS A SCAM! I enrolled in their insurance they took 135. Out my bank account so a month later I went to doctor and was told my insurance was inactive. Called them and they tell me it's active needless to say I contacted my financial institution and got my 135. Back

I am on hold now. Usually they tend to be excellent but today, When I have a huge problem that time is of the very essence, man tells me they will call back in 24 hours or so. He told me he does not feel for anyone. This man had zero compassion for me. Maggie was kind but the man who answered the phone should be fired. I have been waiting for a case manager a week when I was initially told 24 hours. GET IT TOGETHER PEOPLE! !!
