I wasted time approaching these folks for a standalone umbrella policy...which they promote and this is false...THEY DO NOT This is what Google states...and is incorrect Yes, The Oak Insurance Group and similar independent agencies like Live Oak Insurance provide personal umbrella policies that offer extra liability coverage beyond standard homeowners or auto insurance. These policies typically start at $1 million in coverage to protect against major lawsuits and, while technically separate, usually require underlying liability coverage. Stand-alone Capability: While they are "stand-alone" policies (not part of your home/auto policy document), insurers generally require you to have underlying auto or home insurance to qualify for an umbrella policy.
