Starmount Insurance

Good luck trying to cancel with this company! They took our recorded statement requesting the cancellation. Then we submitted an email. A month later, they auto-drafted the premium so we called again to cancel. Same thing, recorded a statement and sent an email. Yep...it's been three months since the original cancellation request and Starmount is still taking out the premiums. I think the only way I am going to be able to cancel this policy is to close my bank account. What a scam!

Once upon a time, this company was easy to work with and easy to contact. I recently tried to get information on what was covered in my policy and it took 6 months and involving my state insurance commissioner to get a response. No response was ever sent to me. The response to the insurance commissioner was condescending about me. And I want to emphasize again, they never responded to me. Avoid this worthless company. There are other options and much less patronizing of their customers.

I closed my account with this company 5months ago and the accountant somehow opened my account and charged my credit card $160. How does this happen? I do not know. I called them right away and spoke to a customer service rep, I never even spoke to the accountant. The accountant emailed me the details of the transaction but never apologized for her mistake. I am Never using Starmount Insurance again. I do NOT recommend them to anyone.

An absolute nightmare to get ahold of. Just be ready to be doing all the leg work as a customer - because service is a miss. They do handle the issues once you get ahold of the right person. That is after you battle to get ahold of person…. And if the person you get knows what they are doing.

The wait time to reach an associate on the phone is absolutely unacceptable. It does not matter how busy a company is, there is no excuse for 30+ minute wait time to reach a customer service representative that will only be on the phone with you for 5 minutes. More often then not, the customer service representative is unable to answer my questions, leading to a transfer and another 30+ minute hold time. Get it together. You're losing customers being incompetent.
