Shenandoah Mutual Fire Insurance Company

I am in shock with how well we were taken care of at Shenandoah mutual after our house flooded. They were there within hours of it flooding, had a plan and contacts lined up and got started tearing out drywall so our house didn’t mold. They dried out our basement in no time and actually reimbursed us for items that were damaged by the water- building supplies, furniture, etc. the flood was so upsetting but wow were we taken care of by our insurance company. We heard of a lot of others in our area affected by the flooding that received no help or reimbursements from their insurance companies. I highly recommend switching to Shenandoah mutual; we’re switching all our houses over to them. I wouldn’t trust anyone else to treat us or our houses this well.

Do NOT use this company. As long as you just pay them every month and don’t need them you’re fine but lord help you when you do. Took MONTHS to get my basement fixed because they kept “forgetting” and were too busy. Had a leak in my dining room that required $3k plus to fix correctly and they send the slumlord adjuster to come out and want to band aid any problem. Just to avoid paying the money to fix it correctly. Horrible not once but twice ! Honestly you’re wasting time with this company and should probably just not have insurance all together.

Very unethical. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I had paid this place for 5-10 years through my mortgaged escrow. My home was vandalized and some of my personal possesions were stolen while I was out of town. Needless to say, they did not cover my claim - as they believed my home was "vacant". They have a nice little page on their website, that says they understand when you feel violated by this happening to you - but then THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND IT. - Oh, and then the following month they canceled my policy.

Not helpful at all. Not sure what the purpose of having homeowners insurance if they won’t cover damages from all of the rain we received! I would give zero if I could. Stay far away, we will be switching insurances.

Quite possibly the worst insurance company I’ve ever had the displeasure of working with. Lies, accidentally sending homeowner crude emails meant for upper management, etc…
