I have worked in the Medical Insurance World for nearly 40 years and I never had a claim or a mention of SelmanCo come across my desk. I really don’t understand how this happened! I just saw its availability upon reading through my husband’s PEBA handbook one day and I checked on it. It’s a Tricare Supplement you can get and keep because my husband was Military Retired but working for our state and insured under our state employment insurance carrier BCBS. My husband retired 6 years ago and started with Medicare and Tricare for life. I’m 8 years younger than him so I dropped my companies group health plan which made Tricare my primary and I picked up SelmanCo as my supplement. Was not able to cancel an insurance premium for a deceased relative even after 6 months of trying and multiple phone calls, emails and zero follow up from Selman Insurance. Eventually put stop payment on the ACH transaction. Just absolutely terrible customer service. All of the good reviews here feel like they were submitted by Selman's marketing team and totally do not reflect my experience with Selman at all. Their company is based on "Integrity Parkway", but clearly needs more of that.

1st time calling to try to understand my benefits. On hold precisely until 4pm, when the close, and then was hung up on. Not a great first experience. Unfortunately I need to have someone explain my benefits I am paying for

This company is awful to deal with regarding insurance policy. I have reached out three times a month since April 2025 to report the death of my father. They put you on hold for hours, if they do answer there is no response to any questions. They forward you to different people and then cut you off. I have now had to stop auto pays from his account with the bank. Very rude

Selman & Company is the WORST company I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with. They claim they don't receive written correspondence. This has happened several times. This has caused my policy to lapse. Then they cancel policies without notification. They hold onto your policy premium refunds for years with out notification. Their customer service representatives are untrained and incompetent. Just a terrible all around company to deal with. I have never dealt with a worse company in all my years.
