Risk Strategies | Gowrie Group

We have used the Gowrie group and its predecessor for the last 20 years and two boats. Rachel has been my agent for what feels like forever. She and the company are wonderful!

I initially insured my vessel through MPG because they were recommended by Safe Harbor. I've been having the worst experience with the company. I spent extra money getting 2 surveys, extra haul-out, countless calls, emails, and left messages to Anne Fisher at GoWire Risk Strategies. No return calls and no return emails. I recommend staying away from this company. Horrible customer service and certainly the company representative displays a complete lack of professional ethics.

If you in need to get marine insurance you already are well aware of the headache this is due to the amount of work it takes just to get a quote it's more like we are begging them to take our money then it is that we are paying them to work for us but this is across the board with all marine insurance brokers and companies. This company will only waste your time and they are far from professional about it. I am not the only one that had this issue with this company read others reviews about no one responds and they don't make you feel like they are working for you. Look elsewhere it will save you a massive headache.

Previously, I had recommended them to all my boating friends. Over the summer I bought a new boat and they were more than double the price of the company that I went with for the same coverage. After I bought my new boat, I still had my old boat insured with them. When I sold my old boat in late August of 2020, I canceled my policy. They said thy needed th bill of sale to cancel coverage. I don't know why because the boat was paid for and New York does not require insurance. It's now January of 2021 and my account is still getting charged almost $400.00 per month for a boat that I sold in August. On top of this debatable, I recommended he new owner to get insurance from them. Which he did. He purchased a policy in August of 2020. So they are charging 2 people to insure the same

It really depends on who you work with. Our agent is extremely unresponsive and doesn't answer emails. It takes days to get in touch with her. Other agents are very helpful - like Anne Fisher. Ask for her if you need help.
