I worked with Joe Kleindl on a water damage claim. He was very helpful throughout the claim and construction process. Very personable, great follow-up with any questions, timely payments, etc... I would recommend to anyone!

This insurance company is a joke. My brother filed a legitimate claim against their insured, and instead of doing any real investigation, they just took their client’s statement at face value and denied the claim. No accountability, no fairness—just the easiest possible way out for them. To make it worse, the adjuster, Allison, was flat-out rude and dismissive. She talked over me, acted like I was wasting her time, and clearly had zero interest in actually reviewing the facts. If this is how they treat people who are simply trying to resolve a claim, I can’t imagine how bad it is for their own customers. This company exists to protect themselves, not to handle claims honestly. Save

Unfair claim denial. I filed a claim against their insured, and they never properly investigated. They relied on their client’s false statement and denied my claim without reviewing the facts. The adjuster, was rude and dismissive throughout the process. Very disappointing experience — proceed with caution.

We had house damage and lost a grain bin from 100+mph winds. The adjuster was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. Our claim was settled in a timely fashion and to our satisfaction.

If you have the misfortune of dealing with North Star Mutual, plan to study up on your rights and the laws in your state—hire an attorney or work with your own insurance company if possible. In May 2025, our vehicle (driven by my wife and occupied by our children) was struck by a driver insured by North Star Mutual. For over two weeks, they stonewalled us—failing to acknowledge fault, investigate, communicate with us, or move our claim forward. In June, North Star reached out to us randomly and declared our vehicle a total loss, putting forward a laughably low settlement. Despite repeated requests, they've refused to provide written documentation of their appraisal process, the comparable vehicles used to determine our vehicle's value, or the calculations behind their total-loss determin
