Mapfre Insurance

Been a customer for years and years, never been in an accident , missed a payment once due to not motorizing my account close enough and they canceled my coverage and raised my rate 2x. Also think I’m paying to much still. Would recommend just going with a large insurer if you are a good driver

We’ve had our car insurance with MAPFRE for many years now. Our experience has always been positive! Their staff is very professional and easy to work with. Filing claims with their online system is very easy and their response is quick and efficient. I definitely recommend MAPFRE without hesitation!

We have had MAPFRE insurance for a long time. We have been very happy . A few months ago my car was hit in a parking lot while I was in the store. Luckily the person left a note. I worked with my agent and MAPFRE and got a car rental and things were taken care of in a timely fashion. Good job.

The worst experience. I was hit by someone that had mapfre as their carrier. 2 months after the police report was completed i was finally allowed to go to their preferred body shop. My vehicle was totaled. The payoff amount is no where near what it will take me to replace my vehicle. I could only keep a loaner for 7 days, actually found out from the rental agency that my loaner had to be returned before mapfre let me know my vehicle was totaled. Unresponsive agent, unhelpful and un caring. I will be out thousands of dollars for an accident which i was not at fault. Horrendous

I'm noticing that all of MAPFRE's 1 Star reviews are from loyal customers. And here's another one to add to the list. They were good until they weren't. I signed up with MAPFRE in December 2022 and was paying $163/mo until it renewed in December 2024 and jumped up to $263/mo resulting in a $1,200/year increase. Everything remained the same and I had nothing on my driving record that wold've caused it to increase. Despite the extra $100/mo increase I stuck with them through most of 2025 until I switched to Progressive and they brought my payment down to $171/mo with very similar coverage. I spoke to two different people within the same day, with the first person cancelling my autopay, and the second person asked for the proof of insurance and saw that they couldn't match it.
