Zero stars. This Humana Dental PPO policy is completely misleading and feels like a straight-up scam. The policy clearly states it covers one deep cleaning per year and two regular cleanings. Sounds simple, right? That’s exactly why I chose this plan. But when my dentist recommended a deep cleaning and I went through with it, Humana suddenly changed the rules. Now they claim they’ll only cover the deep cleaning if they decide it’s “necessary” based on their interpretation of the X-rays. So apparently the actual dentist examining my mouth doesn’t matter—but some insurance reviewer behind a desk does. They tried to offer me some "gift card prize" that I win when I just wanted to change insurance plans. I am very suspicious that this is a scam center.
By far the worse insurance company to work with. I have tried for over a year and a half to get paid for outstanding claims that HUMANA states is a benefit for our patients. I have a multiple patients and claims that are outstanding. Every time I call and request to speak to a manager; I wait for over an hour only to be told they are all busy. The longest I've wait for a manager that never came to the phone was 2 hours. I am currently on a call of 1 hour and 3 minutes with no manager on the line STILL. They keep telling me they are busy. I have been calling on these claims that are from 2023 since they were billed in 2023. I have spent countless hours trying to resolve this issue and no one ever calls back or can assist me. I changed to Humana to help my costs and they keep giving me wrong information and the guy who signed me up would never answer my calls or emails. I need equipment and I lost about $700 that they should have given me back 80 percent back. I filled and called many times and filed an appeal and all I got was wrong information.
