My wife is in need of back surgery if she ever plans to walk again. Doctor told us the sooner we get the surgery the better the chances of recovery. The surgery had to be cancelled because this company is dragging their feet. Wanting proof she is even sick. Valuable time wasted. You pay in to these companies month after month just for them to leave you high and dry when you need them. I want my wife back, I want her to be able to hold our 6 month old son. I don't want our family to suffer the rest of our lives because insurance wouldn't let her get the operation she needs in time.
So explain to me how you deny a surgery based on a reviewer that is not even in the same specialist. Please make it make sense. I will be switching plans come July of this year.
Awful customer service, and I'm being polite. Health care in the U.S. is a complicated system to navigate. I am now responsible for $10,000 in medical bills due to their incompetent customer service guidance. They give vague, general advice on highly important issues like the need to apply for pre-determination of coverage and letters of medical necessity from the doctor. Their denied claim appeals process is completely via snail mail and you're not allowed to talk with anyone except the front line customer service people. It was like sending a decision appeal to a company in the 1980s. Their customer service reps are undertrained or under-qualified and should not be advising the public on important and costly health decisions. Awful. Can hardly get someone on the phone and when do and ask for a Supervisor they're "all busy". Noone ever returns your call and I missed a PET scan b/c authorization was not done in time. Can't even get a Corporate phone number.
Worst health insurance company ever. I have been waiting over 3 months for my doctor to be approved for their network. I can't get an answer from anyone. Check the web site is all they tell me. Their doctor list is so old some have been dead 5 years or more. My wife and I will be getting off their plan.
