Green Mountain Care

Called customer service because I was in between jobs with no health insurance. The automated answering machine advertised a free health alert device giveaway. The women who took my call forcibly advertised the same giveaway even though I asked her multiple times to stop. She intentionally ignored me when I said no. I was so frustrated that I hung up and called again about 10 minutes later. Same women answered and she immediately hung up on me when I asked her not to talk about the giveaway. Absolutely disgusting behavior!

I see many negative reviews of Green Mountain Cares, but personally, i've gone through them for my Medicaid for years and never once had a problem with them and Medicaid has always taken care of me when needed. The folks at the office are always very friendly and helpful and they've never compromised my insurance or changed anything without informing me first. They are great about renewing coverage and have never left me in the dark.

I just had one of the most pleasant experiences I've ever had interacting with any state agency's member services representatives. My issues were quickly resolved and the two folks I talked with were gracious and personable. Keep up the good work, Green Mountain Care!

Updated 12 month review again gone wrong.This insurance company is absolutely a horrible company. First of all I am disabled and have been for 12 plus yrs. I did all the paperwork they requested and sent me, for over 7 months they played games saying I did the wrong paperwork and they didnt recieve it. Had to have a case worker do it for me and send it in. I had to pay my medicare copays the whole time. When I finally got my gmc insurance they refused to reimburse me the $140. A month copays so I swelled it. Now a yr later again playing the game of paperwork. This is a invasion of privacy but did it to get my ins. But a bank statement. WTF do they need to see a bank statement for. I'm 100% disabled and recieve ssdi nothing else. I'm filing a complaint with the state and federal authorities

Unfortunately green mountain care has some bugs to work out of their system, they had approved my children's insurance but never activated it. They took full responsibility for this but it was very frustrating to call and wait on hold and get switched 3 times to figure out the problem. It's insurance.....
