Florida Family Insurance

I was skeptical about getting as policy through Florida Family Insurance after reading the reviews but the price was half all other agencies and I was willing to take a risk that I wouldn't have to make a claim. I received a cancellation notice two months after paying for a BS reason of "The square footage of the condo unit is below the minimum required per Company guidelines". Well the condo didn't shrink and you would think a smaller unit would be less risk for them. I was surprised I received a prorated check for the 10 months remaining. I hope it doesn't bounce. Stay clear of this Company unless you want to be disappointed.

I can’t really comment on the negative reviews I’ve seen but I can tell you my experience. This company has helped us through three difficult times and has always been responsive and honest. They are not the cheapest for homeowners insurance but they have always been there when we needed them. We suffered hail damage to our roof and called them on a Wednesday. By Saturday, OF THAT SAME WEEK, we had a check for damages which covered a new roof (minus the deductible). We also had lightning strike our house and the damage was devastating. TV’s, cable boxes, two HVAC systems, light fixtures, outlets, security system, irrigation system, A/V equipment, and more. We were miserable, stressed and aggravated. As an independent agent within the State of Florida, I write home policies with several different carriers and my experience with Florida Family has always been outstanding. From customer service to claim response, they make my job very easy. I believe in their product so much, I insure my own home with them!

We paid our insurance premium when our mortgage was late to send the funds. Eventually, our mortgage company sent the funds and we are owed a refund. Since December, Florida Family has been telling us that they have sent the check. We haven't received it after various attempts. Every time I call, I'm always told it's on the way. It's February and still no refund.

Florida Family Insurance offers great coverages on their Homeowners Insurance policies. I highly recommend them.
