Do not trust Farm Bureau from Clearlake, Iowa. Farm Bureau has a great discount for Homeowners’ insurance. However, they will never pay out a claim. And, what’s worse: they will treat you like absolute garbage when you have a calamity. When signing up for the policy, our agent: Jeff Stealy from Clearlake, Iowa, was very personable and friendly. We felt “cared for” and trusted the company. Unfortunately, once you have a claim (we had a lightning ground-strike that exploded our foundation during one of the worst storms I’ve ever experienced in my life), they will start treating you like a criminal. They will start speaking to you like you are trying to “get one over on them” and then claim it’s an entirely different situation—so they don’t have to pay the claim. For instance, instead of th
