In early June I requested a copy of our Certificates of Insurance for my wife and myself, as we did not have one in our files. After numerous phone calls and a number of visits to their office I only received my wife’s copy. Again I called them numerous times and personally stopped by to get my copy, which should have been mailed with my wife’s. After being assured that it would be taken care of, I still haven’t received it. The lack of communication within the company is horrendous, and their customer service is even worse. Despite my telling them I would leave them a negative review, they didn’t seem to care. One man’s experience: The adviser seemed more interested in his personal politics than my retirement account. He felt the need to share. When I left the job my 401(k) with Duncan was with, I was told I had to close my account and… fees. I was told that I wasn’t doing it fast enough so… fees. I pointed out they were the ones holding it up. They relented on those fees. My account was “closed”. Fast Forward a year and a half, I get a letter. My balance is too low to pay their fees so they’re closing my account (again?)... which had fees. I would not choose to work with them again.
