Derek Newton: Allstate Insurance

Let me start off by saying that I'm a 10+ year customer of Allstate. In those ten years of multiple cars with full coverage and a household, I have claimed a single tow reimbursement. However when my area was hit by a pretty severe hail storm most of the houses in my neighborhood were affected including mine. I hired a contractor before filing a claim just to make sure there was hail damage. Of course there was, my contractor pointed it all out and provided me with pictures as proof for myself and Allstate. I then filed a claim. Almost every other house in my neighborhood started getting new roofs due to the storm. I was confident that Allstate would take care of my roof considering that everyone else had the same damage or less. However that was not the case. I was told that it was a gift

I had the worst experience there with an agent . She quoted me on price by phone and once I got to the office it was totally inflated. It was double what was quoted by phone and she just kept stating that "she didn't remember what she quoted by phone". A total let down and complete waste of time. She totally tried to take advantage of the situation that I was in and was found to be totally dishonest. Cannot speak for all agents but she has no integrity.

Have home owners insurance but yet my roof wasn't covered to bring it up to code so now I'm left dealing with a bill over 6000. Was not told this wasn't covered when I got my insurance.
