Coastal American Insurance Company

Stay away from Coastal American insurance company. We purchased our house in December since then they have sent us two cancellation letters. One that was backdated and stated that they had cancelled our insurance before it had even started. And one that stated the house was vacant…even though we were living in it. Now they have officially cancelled. They simply just sent us a check. No letter. No phone call. Nothing. Now I am a week from my wife having a baby and having to find new homeowners insurance. These people are a complete scam. Don’t do business with them.

Worst experience of mylife!!!!!!! Definitely do your research before hiring this company. High premiums , adjuster was more interested in trying to deny the claim that he failed to do his due diligence upon coming out for the initial inspection. Waited weeks for ALE. I would recommend using Farmers, Allstate, USAA

Have had insurance with them through 2 homes. Just sold and bought another housthe year.e which they refused to insure because the roof was 25 years old. Received a letter staining my insurance was cancelled but as of 9/26/21 have not received a checked. I called Baron Rouge several days ago and they said the check was mailed on the 16th. Well the house was sold on th31st of August and I STILL have not received the check. And NO unless you have someone walking it to Gulfport ,it was not sent out on the 16th.Please send my refund. Good luck getting a refund when you sell your house, I’m nearly 4 months out with multiple emails and phone calls of “the refund was sent” and still no refund. Paid for an entire year of insurance and house sold a week later. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I will be sure to tell every buyer, seller, and realtor my history with this company. I have worked with many insurance agencies and agents in both Alabama and Mississippi. This was a personal experience with this office not based on hearsay.
