I was a customer of Central Virginia Insurance for about 5 years, with an equine policy that I never used until recently. During that time, I paid all invoices on time and never filed a claim. They keep your card on file and automatically charge you when it’s time to pay the invoice, which I dislike since my card often changes. The worst part is there’s no way to pay your invoice online on your own—it feels like the company hasn’t even stepped into the 21st century. However, this isn’t my main issue. The real problem came when I filed a claim after my horse sustained an eye injury. I contacted my agent, Jennifer, to ask how to file the claim. She gave me the claims adjuster’s phone number, but didn’t ask about the nature of my claim or offer any guidance. About 48 hours later, the claims

I was a customer of Central Virginia for over 10 years. I had an equine policy in place and previously had nothing but good things to say. They helped me navigate several major medical claims and were always helpful with renewals and answering any questions. However, over the past few years the level of customer service has severely declined. This year I was quoted an incorrect amount for the annual premium, had to follow up with billing numerous times, and was never mailed a copy of my policy. Most recently, when my horse was having neurologic issues, I reached out to my agent I received almost no guidance on how to navigate through an incredibly difficult situation. Not as helpful as I would have wished. Had to double check my own discounts multiple times. You can probably do better looking on your own.

Have been with them for 18 years. Never had an issue and always willing to work with you with whatever problem you may have.

Debbie is wonderful, smart, efficient, helpful and friendly. Everyone in the office is friendly and helpful. My husband and I are so glad we went to this agency.
