This is an extremely dysfunctional company, starting with the first step a member might take to contact a representative with medical or dental inquiries. First of all, there is no call-back option. You will be put on hold indefinitely with no ETA. My average hold time, before I hang up / give up, is 50 minutes. Yesterday I was on hold for 1 1/2 hours, today I'm at 50 minutes and about to hang up. You can send an inquiry through the web and you'll hear back from someone a day later with generic guidance. If you're lucky, you'll get a call back at some point, but not right away. Some of the phone numbers on CareFirst's website are no longer working numbers. If you want to file a complaint or provide feedback, you can only fax or email CareFirst the issue. Feels like this company does the ba
I have called CareFirst BlueCross trying to get them to send me my permanent insurance cards 6 times!!! I have two little kids who are constantly at the doctors. One is autistic. And I have to sit there and print paper copies or email them from my phone. And they swear they’ve sent them 4 times. Then I finally got a manager who said she would look into it and call me back. No return call and I have called her direct dial 4 times with no answer and no return call. This type of customer service is INEXCUSABLE. All I need is my ID cards!! On top of it all - they have no call back service so I have to wait on hold 35 minutes every time. As a working mom, I don’t have time for any of this type of poor customer service. Help humanity out and be a better insurance provider CareFirst.
Unable to find out my patient's benefits or get authorization. Left messages at one number. No one called back. Tried to get benefits and was on hold for over 2 hours. No one ever picked up. Tried to fax an authoization form and the number on their form doesn't work. They are unreachable.
I have had CareFirst for 2 years. It’s the worst healthcare experience. The claims have no detail. They never answer the phone (as of right now, I have been on hold 23 minutes) and none of the 6 emails to customer service from their site have ever been returned. Worst of all, my healthcare providers have been dropping this company like crazy.
I was having trouble accessing my benefits online, and couldn't get through to anyone on the main BCBS Customer Service line. I decided to call the local office because I didn't know what else to do. I spoke with Janet and she was amazing! She eased my worry and was extremely helpful. She also made sure she got the right representative on the phone before disconnecting with me!
