I've been buying seeds from this company for a few years thru my friends and myself both in California and Las Vegas and we share the seeds. The seeds have always been very good to me in terms of germination (except for petunias because of weather) and at times, the flowers overwhelmed me because I put way too many seeds close together... my experience from other vendors is that they don't germinate or grow, but Burrells seeds have great value especially for the price when you buy by the ounces. Yes, the Zinnias grow in any conditions, and they are a great sub for roses without the hassles of pruning and getting cut by thorns.The cosmos are awesome too especially when you mix them with the other flowers due to their colors. Cool old building. Bins full of seeds. High ceiling. Nice helpers. Seems like a good variety of product. I bought seeds for 3 peppers, 3 tomatos, and 3 zinnias. All of the seeds had very low germination rates except the zinnias. I also bought a pack of single marigolds which had a 0% germination after 3 tries. The clerk actually told me the Mosco pepper seeds would only have a 25% germination. I planted 25 seeds and yielded 3 seedlings. I wont buy seeds here again.

Cool place but the seed must be old because the germination is horrible on all the seed I've bought 2 years in a row now. 75% of what I bought never came up so I did tests and they were all duds. Waste of $$.

Great service! I ordered a bunch of seeds and the package came taped and there were only two packets of seeds in there and the inside was covered in seeds. I called and explained what had arrived. They assured me that they had originally shipped all the seeds but that it appeared something happened in shipment and would resend the seeds. The package arrived in great condition with all the seeds. Can't wait for all this snow to melt and the weather to warm up so we can get them started!

This is one of the best kept secrets in the USA! At a time when national seed sellers are giving you tiny amounts of seed, this small company still gives you a lot of seed in their $2.60 (free shipping) packets! I've been buying from them for 40+ years!
