We purchased property insurance through them for a new retail location and made it crystal clear from the very beginning that the property would be undergoing renovations and would not be occupied for about six months. This was not a surprise—it was openly discussed and acknowledged at the time of purchase. Fast forward to winter: a pipe burst during renovations, flooding the entire property. Brown & Brown refused to cover the damages, citing “vacancy”—a technicality they knew applied when they sold us the policy. This wasn’t just an oversight; it was a betrayal. It takes a long time to put together $186 carryout order and from someone that worked in the restaurant business for 22 years that ungrateful gratitude is despicable. So much for the season of giving!!!!
