They take forever to pay. They often make mistakes processing claims. Their associates, while pleasant, are woefully undertrained and cannot answer more than basic questions. Pro tip #1: Immediately ask to be transferred to the "Escalation Team"; that's where the more senior staff work. Combined with London Health they have created plans that are unnecessarily complex and they seemingly do not have the coding needed to implement the complexities. You will spend hours and days trying to coordinate between BX, LH and your providers offices. Pro tip #2: Download their app and try to handle your business via the chat feature. We spend $26k on a high deductible ($12k) plan and I can’t even get through to their customer service to ask about a benefit of my plan. On hold for one plus hours and still counting. This is beyond frustrating and since it’s RI there is no other real option of coverage, BCBS takes full advantage of people like us. We have no other alternative than to put up with poor customer service and pay handsomely for such poor service.

Breathtaking incompetence. For the last 8-10 weeks I've been trying to get my uncle and mom on autopay for medicare to no avail. I was told he was signed up for auto pay already (by a BCSSRI rep), but he got a bill anyway. Now to find out he is not set up for autopayments so I have to scramble to sort it. Signed my mom up for autopay, successfully, so it seemed. But she also got a bill anyway. She was startled by the quarterly bill and went and paid it (Yes I told her she was all set, but she's 88 and gets confused/worried). She's now paid for the bill twice and was signed up for auto pay AGAIN at one of the Blue Stores. They couldn't see that she was already signed up for autopay? Just spent an hour on the phone, neither case is resolved yet and there's more work for me to do for both of

Their system is absolutely horrendous and archaic. Couldn't log in as I was a former customer so it had my old account number and wouldn't let me change it so had to put a ticket in and that took a good 2 weeks for them to fix. Then you have to create another account just to set up autopay, you can't even do it from your account which is crazy for 2026. Once you get in there you can't even click off certain boxes because it's so finnicky. I would give them zero stars they are absolutely horrendous and I see why their ratings are so bad, i would stay far away.

I went to the Blue Store for the first time. I was so impressed with the service. From the young lady who checked me in to Stephanie Pellegrino. She was able to answer all my questions. Was very willing to search for my Doctors. She helped prepare me to make a decision I'm confident will benefit me. I will be back. .
