I'm only giving 1 star because you have to to be able to leave a review. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT use this insurance!! They are terrible, they get you to buy it and then deny your claims. I've asked for a supervisor to reach out to me several times and nothing. I can't get an actual human on the phone, it's always a chat, or I have to email and wait days for a response. Stop scamming people into buying insurance if you aren't going to let them use it!!

Dear Assurant Team, I am writing to formally express my deep concern and frustration regarding my recent experience with your company. On May 13, my family experienced a traumatic emergency—we were displaced due to a fire caused by your insured clients. Upon guidance from my own insurance provider, I was instructed to file a claim directly with Assurant. However, the process has been incredibly stressful and unprofessional. I spent hours calling multiple times, was hung up on by a representative, and eventually connected with Adjuster Bob, who referred me to Ryan for claim filing. Unfortunately, Ryan was not only unhelpful but also rude and condescending. Absolutely horrible experience. Water pipe flooded my entire first floor. The claims agent is either deliberately instructed to be dismissive and evasive, or gets away with it by her leadership. She rarely returns calls. Called her supervisor 4 times, left messages, within a week 1/2 for him to contact me, nothing. They don’t even have the damage to my house listed correctly. I have repeatedly asked for the adjuster to come back and told it is not necessary, to submit my information and nothing happens. Resend, and starts all over again. I Cannot occupy my first floor since March 11th, mostly because of delays by insurance company. Started paying out of pocket and doing my own work at night after work so I can restore my home to previous condition so my family can use it. After this long,

Honestly this company doesn't deserve the one star I was forced to click to leave this review. I have been forced to take off work for a service repair person whom never calls or shows. You can't even call and leave a message due to a full mailbox that is never emptied. When I call customer service all they want to do is give you another appointment. 3 weeks later and still no service. I will never use this company again. I tried to let them redeem themselves, but got further disappointed. WARNING ⚠️ DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!

CROOKS! NEVER CHOOSE THEM! I am waiting on a credit since November of 2024 since they wrongly charged my account for months. I called to get things right and they told me I wasn’t in their system when I received a letter FROM THEM. After countless e mails from myself and my apartment leasing office I still have received NOTHING despite them telling me in fact THEY DO owe me over $100. They will take your money wrongly and do nothing to correct it. Save your money and choose otherwise.
