Warning About Amica Insurance – My Premium Skyrocketed I wanted to share my recent experience with Amica Insurance as a heads-up for anyone considering them. Over the past six months, my insurance premium has gone up twice. In April 2025, it increased by $300. Then on August 1st, it jumped by a staggering $3,000, bringing my total 12-month premium to $6,000. That’s an outrageous increase in such a short time. On top of that, my car insurance also doubled. I’m now shopping around to find a better rate that fits my budget. I strongly advise others to be cautious before choosing Amica. What may start as a fair deal can quickly become unaffordable. This company was so great in the beginning. Helpful at times. However when there was a mistake that was made on my husband’s license that was later corrected. This company treated me like crap. They cancelled my insurance and didn’t give me an opportunity to even speak about it, even though the issue was resolved immediately. I’d say the company showed their true colors the moment a small discrepancy occurred. Lol They are definitely not caring nor willing to work with you on ANYTHING. It was quite strange and disheartening because I believed that they were genuine. Then they stabbed me in the back. Ijs be aware.

Worst company ever!!! I been reaching out to them for days about someone with amica hitting my car. I provided all the information I needed pictures police report n etc. even told them I used my car for work and haven’t been able to work. They keep telling me someone will reach out to me by the end of the day still haven’t got a call back. Police report states the other person was at fault but they saying they can’t do anything til they heard for the person who have the insurance with their company.

I've been with Amica for a number years - with auto, boat, homeowner's, and an umbrella liability policy. Agents are very professional and polite along with being knowledgable. So far - I'm very satisfied with them.

Approx. 2 weeks ago, I went through the quote process with Amica for auto, homeowner and umbrella liability coverage. The rates were looking good and I was about to move forward when the agent informed me that Amica was not offering coverage for wind damage on the homeowner policy she was quoting. She said it was something new and that Artificial Intelligence (AI) was involved in making the decision. She was unable to explain the business rules or underwriting policies that were configured in their AI system. It was a really frustating experience, especially being told at the end of the process that there was no wind damage coverage.
