Extremely frustrating experience with East Coast Towing through AAA. My van was towed on February 19, 2026 from Taunton to Warwick. While the vehicle was being unloaded from the flatbed, a brake line that had apparently been damaged during the tow failed, leaving the vehicle with no brakes. The van rolled down the ramp and slammed into the truck, ripping off the front bumper and destroying the radiator. AAA denied the claim by saying the bumper was old and had scratches. In other words, because the bumper wasn’t brand new, they claim the damage caused during the tow doesn’t count. That explanation ignores the fact that the brake system failed while the vehicle was still under the tow operator’s control. As someone who relies on this vehicle for work, this incident caused serious damage a

If you live in a rural area in winter, you’re out of luck with AAA! Brakes gave out on our old Corolla coming down our driveway, and car ended up in snowbank. I called AAA around 6pm on a Thursday to help excavate us. The private road we’re on was perfectly clear and sanded, and it had been 2 weeks since the last snowstorm. We’ve been receiving packages and mail, no problem and have had no issues getting around in a 2 wheel drive vehicle. The driver made it about as far as our mailbox (on the edge of the main paved road) and refused to go the additional 500ft on the FLAT dirt road because there was a little bit of ice on the edges. No one communicated with me however, until the tow truck was well far away on his way home. I could have walked to meet him at the mailbox. Instead, the dis

I have had the worst experience of my life yesterday. I got my car towed to a mechanic through AAA in the morning, everything went smooth, they sent a wrecker truck with a big bed and the driver was great. Dropped the car off no problem. Then I needed it towed out of the mechanic because he wasn’t going to accept my insurance. A driver shows up, Roxanne, and she immediately gives me an attitude without even looking at the car. She says she wants to leave already because the car is not out of the mechanic’s garage, which of course it is because it won’t drive!! She is on the phone the whole time and already cussing left and right to herself. She showed up in a tiny pull truck when I had requested a wrecker truck because my car doesn’t steer(that’s why I need a damn tow). She makes a poor a

I am a 20-year member of AAA. I pay for a full family membership because I have 3 daughters and I want them covered if I can't be there when they need it. I never use the service, but it is meant to be there for us when I need it. Tonight, a car hit my wife while driving in Providence. Our car was not drivable after the accident. I called AAA to request a tow truck, and they informed me that they would not help me if there was an accident. They only offer roadside service for mechanical issues. I am shocked and disappointed. What does it even cost for AAA to call me a reputable tow service to ensure my safety? I was on my own, left to Google Maps to find a tow service, which I was told I had to pay $250 cash for a 7-mile tow. I rarely rage on services, but I have to say that this is shamef

I was in an accident and the State Trooper called a tow service. I had to pay for the service and to have my car released had to pay in full. I submitted a claim and was denied for two reasons. First reason was I did not call AAA and I explained to them why I didn't. Second was the invoice did not have a paid stamp on it. I spoke with the rep and told her that No towing company is going to release your car unless you pay full balance. She was no help at all and didn't seem to care. She was working remote and I got the impression I was bothering her. So, instead of continuing to bang my head against a brick wall i surrendered. I will be cancelling my membership in March without any renewal. All my friends will do the same when their renewal comes up. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE/RESOLUTIONS EVER.
